Read more about this easing of restrictions.

Masks will no longer be mandatory indoors, including at TAFE Queensland, however everyone is encouraged to carry one and wear it on public transport or where physical distancing is not possible.

Please continue to keep up good hygiene practises and observe physical distancing.

STAY SAFE

  • Your health and safety is our number one priority.
  • Information and health alerts related to the new cases from Queensland Health can be located via this link: Public Health Alert.
  • COVID-19 is still a reality for us all. We must continue to take appropriate precautions to safeguard ourselves and others. This is important for everyone.
  • Please remember to:
    • Stay home if you are sick and do not expose others. If you are unwell with flu-like symptoms, do not come to campus.
    • Practise good etiquette; cover your cough and sneeze, dispose of tissues, wash your hands thoroughly or use alcohol-based hand sanitiser. When not in a classroom environment stay more than 1.5 metres away from people.

DO I NEED TO WEAR A MASK?

Masks are a requirement for everyone in Queensland. You must carry a mask with you at all times when you leave home unless you have a lawful reason not to. Masks must be worn in a range of circumstances including indoors except at home, including in ride share, on public transport and in workplaces. At TAFE Queensland you should wear a mask while you are indoors if you are not able to practice physical distancing.

WHAT ARE THE LOCKDOWN ARRANGEMENTS?

For the full detail of the lockdown you should visit the Queensland Health website.

STUDENTS ATTENDING TRAINING DURING THE LOCKDOWN

If you were scheduled to attend training during the three-day lockdown period between 5:00pm Monday 29 March 2021 to 5:00pm Thursday, 1 April 2021 at a campus affected by the lockdown, you should not come to campus.

If you were scheduled to participate in assessment, your teacher will be in contact with you directly.   We encourage you to wait for this communication.

ASSESSMENT

If you were scheduled to participate in assessment, your teacher will be in contact with you directly to discuss next steps.

IF YOU LIVE IN THE GREATER BRISBANE AREA OR HAVE BEEN WITHIN THE GREATER BRISBANE AREA BETWEEN 20 – 28 MARCH 2021, BUT STUDY IN A LOCATION OUTSIDE OF LOCKDOWN

We strongly recommend that you to stay in your local area, and not attend campus. You should contact your teacher to make arrangements. Please stay safe.

LIBRARIES

You will still be able to access support from our library team.  For online library support visit us online at library.tafeqld.edu.au.

Our physical library facilities within lockdown areas will not be accessible (with the exception of South Bank).

STUDY FOR RESIDENTS OUTSIDE OF THE LOCKDOWN AREA

If you reside outside of the lockdown area and attend a TAFE Queensland campus not affected by the lockdown your classes will proceed, unless otherwise advised.

Mandatory mask wearing requirements apply for all of Queensland. You are required to wear a mask while you are indoors, except when you are at home.  At TAFE Queensland you are required to wear a mask indoors if you are not able to maintain physical distance from others.

If the mask impedes the safety or undertaking of an activity you do not need to wear a mask, but you must replace it once the activity is completed.

You should review Queensland Health information about wearing a mask.
