Deferring study

Only in extreme exceptional circumstances will a deferment be provided after the start of study.

Deferment of enrolment is not permitted except in exceptional circumstances. Students who are offered a place and cannot undertake their study are required to re-apply to gain an offer of place for the next intake of students.

In exceptional circumstances, an application for leave of absence may be made to the appropriate institute officer, and students will be required to supply evidence of their inability to start/continue their course of study.

Deferment approval may be conditional (e.g. pending the continued availability of places in this course of study) and deferments will not be granted for longer than 12 months.

For more information, contact the relevant institute directly.
