The Certificate III will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to perform advanced diagnostic operations in the automotive retail, service and repair environment. Students will learn how to diagnose complex faults in light vehicle petrol engines, electronic spark ignition engine management systems and braking systems. Students undertaking this role will primarily service and repair the mechanical parts of motor vehicles such as the engine, transmission (clutch, gear box and differential) and the suspension systems (springs, steering, brakes, wheels and tyres). It will provide employment opportunities in the automotive industry as a mechanic. Course details

Since I was a kid I always liked cars. My favourite thing I’ve learnt is engines. Engines are like the hearts of cars; they are very complicated and precise. TAFE Queensland gives us the opportunity to do practical placement in a real workshop. As a student here, you get to do lots of really great things rather than just sitting inside reading books.

Develop the practical and technical skills to design and draft various engineering applications and drawings for transport systems, pipelines, dams, bridges, high-rise buildings and plant, mining and industrial water and waste management facilities.
